About this collection
Explore together
Children make sounds with pebbles by the stream with Lokum, trying to create their own instruments from the sounds around them, listening when friends say "Too noisy!", and building a shared piece of music where everyone finds their own sound.
In the colouring pages, children colour Lokum making her first sounds and the three friends' concert, choosing colours for each instrument and imitating its sound. In seek-and-find, they search the stream bank and the front of the mill.
Talk together
1) What did Lokum do when her friends said "Too noisy!"? 2) What things at home can you make sounds with? Together: Pick three safe kitchen things (a wooden spoon, a box with a lid, a bottle with some rice in it). Each of you takes an "instrument". Play one at a time, then all together; one person can be the conductor and show who plays when.
