About this collection
Explore together
Children see Lokum's birthday painting for her grandmother get soaked, put her sadness into words, then look at the blobs again and turn something spoilt into something new by finding shapes in them.
In the colouring pages, children colour Lokum painting by the stream and turning a blob into a fish, and think about what they could make from a "blob" of their own. In seek-and-find, they search the stream in the morning and Babaanne's kitchen.
Talk together
1) How did Lokum feel when her painting got wet? What did she add to it afterwards? 2) Has something you made ever gone wrong? What did you do? Together: Drip a few drops of watercolour or watered-down ink onto paper, fold it in half and open it. Look at the blob together: what does it look like? Add eyes, wings or leaves with a pencil and give it a name.
