About this collection
Explore together
Children feel sad with Riko when his kite won't fly; they try putting the feeling into words, noticing the reason (no wind) and waiting patiently with Mum, and see Riko say "Come again tomorrow" without being upset.
In the colouring pages, children colour sad Riko and the flying kite, and explain what changed between the two pictures (the wind came). In seek-and-find, they search the path to the meadow and the evening meadow.
Talk together
1) Why didn't the kite fly at first? How did Riko know the wind had come? 2) How do you feel, and what do you do, when something doesn't go the way you want? Together: Hold a ribbon or a paper strip outside or by a window. Is it moving? If not, call "Come, wind, come!" together and wait a little; then blow to make your own wind.
