About this collection
Explore together
Children bake a cake with Riko and his dad and notice that waiting is hard; when Riko gets bored, they see him find something to do (drawing a cake, building one from blocks) and keep away from the hot pan.
In the colouring pages, children colour the cake Riko drew while waiting and the two cakes (one on the plate, one on paper), and talk about things to do while waiting. In seek-and-find, they search the kitchen and the tumbled blocks.
Talk together
1) What did Riko do while he was waiting? 2) What do you do when you get bored of waiting? Together: Next time something is cooking, draw a "waiting picture" with your child. When the timer rings, put the picture on the table and look at both things side by side.
