- Order & TellPuts the mixed-up scenes in order, then tells you the story.
- Feelings JarPicks how the hero feels at that moment; there is no right or wrong answer.
- Draw What Happens NextThe story pauses; your child imagines and draws what comes next.
- Take Them HomeFollows a path with a finger, then matches pictures to their shadows.
About this collection
Explore together
When the shop clock stops, children work with Tıkır and Ela to list the possible causes, start with the easiest guess, test each one in turn, update the list as they go and find the problem by listening and looking carefully.
In the colouring pages, children colour Tıkır looking at the gears through a magnifying glass and Ela cheering when the clock works again, saying their own "list of guesses" out loud. In seek-and-find, they search the repair shop, guessing where to look first and then checking.
Talk together
1) How did Ela and Tıkır find out why the clock had stopped? Which guesses were wrong? 2) What do you do when something at home doesn't work? Together: Pick a toy with flat batteries, a lamp that won't switch on or a stuck zip. Say three possible reasons together, then try them one by one, starting with the easiest. Tick on a piece of paper which one worked.
