About this collection
Explore together
Children join Nohut on a trip to the market with her grandmother and try taking on a job that suits their own strength, stopping for a breather when they get tired and putting it into words: "It's a bit heavy, but I can carry it."
In the colouring pages, children colour Nohut putting tomatoes into the bag one by one and showing the full bag at the door; they count the tomatoes and talk about something they can carry themselves. In seek-and-find, they look for objects at the market and on the cobbled street, taking their time the way Babaanne waits for Nohut.
Talk together
1) What did Nohut do when she got tired carrying the bag? 2) What can you carry by yourself at home? What do you say when it feels heavy? Together: Next time you go shopping, give your child a light bag to carry. Count what's inside together before you go in. If it gets heavy, saying "It's a bit heavy" is enough; rest together instead of taking the bag straight away.
