Pamuk found a busy kitchen in the morning. Mum prepared bread while Dad arranged plates. The little lamb wanted to help. A big jug felt too heavy. “What could I do?” Pamuk asked.

Dad pointed to the soft napkins. “Would you like to put these on the table?” Pamuk tried folding one. The corners did not meet, so the lamb opened it and tried again. This fold looked like a small triangle.

Pamuk placed a napkin at every chair, then noticed an empty space. “Is Grandma coming?” Mum nodded. Pamuk fetched another napkin and prepared a place for her too.

A sibling brought a flower. Pamuk helped set it in the middle. When a napkin fell, both bent down and laughed. The sibling brought a clean one, and Pamuk placed the fallen napkin in the laundry basket.

Grandma unfolded her napkin at breakfast. “You made a place for me,” she said. Pamuk smiled. There had been no need to carry the heavy jug. A small task had become part of everyone’s table.

While clearing up, Pamuk chose to collect spoons. Dad stayed nearby. “Tell me if you feel tired,” he said. After the last spoon, Pamuk went to rest. Helping felt good, and there was still time to play.
