Çitlembik walked along the pond path with Mum. Small marks crossed the damp soil. “Whose tracks are those?” the frog asked. Mum bent down. “I do not know yet. We can look together,” she said.

Çitlembik placed a foot beside the tracks. It was much wider. The little marks looked like three thin lines. They followed the dry path a little farther, staying safely away from the water’s edge.

A tiny bird landed near the reeds and took a few steps. Çitlembik watched from a distance. The new tracks looked like the earlier ones. “Perhaps a bird walked here!” the frog said excitedly.

Çitlembik wanted to move closer, then paused. The bird was searching for food. “We can see from here,” Mum said. The frog took out a sketchbook and drew three thin lines beside a wider frog footprint.

At home, Çitlembik showed Grandpa the drawing. Grandpa explained that different birds leave different tracks. They looked at a nature book together. The frog learned that one footprint could not reveal a bird’s name with certainty.

The next day, rain had washed the tracks away. Çitlembik still had the drawing to remember them. “What else might we notice today?” the frog asked. Mum offered a hand, and they walked along the path together.
